Fantastic album (I've had it for a few years) that displays Toussaint's knack for songwriting, production and artist management. Jesse Hill's Ooh Poo Pa Doo is an all time favorite in NO. Hill's grandson, performing under the name Trumpet Black, was about to hit the big time about 10 years ago, when on a flight to Japan to begin a tour there, an abscessed tooth literally fell out of his mouth, allowing the infection to spread further and he died before the plane could fonish an emergency landing. He had recorded one album, but its releaese has been tied up in estate issues for several years. Thanks for the review, AMM. And, as with the other Toussaint reviews, this one is highly recommended.
