Continuing the tribute to Lew Kirton here,s a very rare Boot Album that collects all of their 45,s bar one. The Invitations started as The Champlains and Tip Toppers, before they became The invitations and signed with Dyno Voice Records. Roy Jolly was the lead when they were with Dynovoice 1965-66. The others were Gary Gant, Bill Morris and Bobby Rivers. When they moved to MGM in late 1966 and 1967, Herman Colefield replaced Jolly. In 1968 they moved to Diamond Records. in 1973, Lew Kirton replaced Colefield as lead, and they moved to Silver Blue Records. Most of their Records Have seen action on the floors of the UK Northern Scene and collectors in Europe as well as the USA have always been keen to hunt them out. They actually toured the Uk in the 1960,s billed as "The Drifters", but it was so obvious to keen soul fans even back then that they were so young. I remember seeing them perform a few Northern tracks (which were Invitations records) apart from the Drifters repertoire they were paid to perform. They were a very good act and gave it their all,i was very impressed.I spoke to a couple of the guys who told me they were called "The Invitations" who i had never heard of after i said "you guys are not the drifters?" they told me they were paid to tour as the Drifters and not mention the facts!...so the hunt was on for their records! and boy they did not disappoint!......DYNAMITE!....I was kindly sent the album allthough i have had it for years & was informed also of Lew,s sad passing, so the credit goes to Yves....LEGENDS!

This is triple sad: for Mr. Kirton's passing, for needing a bootlegger to come up with a cd like this, and for the fact I don't actually have this! Thanks, USMAN47 and AMM!
