Only the one review today as ive been diggin the crates...This is One Of The Best Soul Albums Ever Recorded....IMHO...faultless! Miami’s First Lady of Soul, Way before betty Wright, issued 45s on the Blue Star, Lloyd, Deep City, Phil L.A. Of Soul, Dash, and Dade labels. She was not only the first artist to record for Clarke-Pearsall Productions, Miami’s first independent black production company before henry Stone, she was also the only artist on Miami’s Deep City label to record a full-length LP, & here it is! I reviewed her LP album on numero a while back that contained five tracks from this but thats all, they should have done the whole original LP.  Helene was married to Johnny Pearsall, when she was 23, shortly after most of her Phil-LA of Soul recordings were released. They continued to live in Miami and had one daughter who became a lawyer.Johnny Pearsall also owned a record store in Miami and continued to work with music until his untimely death. Helene carried on his mission working with deprived children and herself became a teacher in a Miami school not recording again, which was a waste with her gifted voice. Apologies for my battered covers & thats how the album was when i sold it.
