Johnnie Taylor - Just Ain't Good Enough (LP 1982 Beverly Glen Music - CD 2004 EMI Stateside + Booklet) - Rare Soul (FLAC 285MB)

"Just Ain't Good Enough" is an album Johnnie released on the short lived Beverly Glen label in 1982 owned by soul legend Otis Smith. The record spawned three hits for Johnnie, "What About My Love" (one of my fave tracks of all time, simply stunning!)  "Just Ain't Good Enough" and "I'm So Proud". It's a solid effort that fits the sound and style alongside his six albums for Columbia. Johnnie, dissatisfied with the label's promotion of the record, would soon leave for Malaco, but this is the missing link in the chain, and a superb slab of soul well worth hearing from this soul genius. This is my CD copy as my LP is well worn. A soul lovers Delight!
