The Ascots - Color Me Soul (1978) + Bonus Track - Crazy Cajun - Rare Soul (MP3 93MB)

The Houston Texas label Crazy Cajun has thrown up countless obscure groups out of the mainstream music circle. There were several groups bearing the name the Ascots in the 1960,s  some soul, some garage. The Washington group on Mir-A-Don well known over here for their dancers on the scene and cool records. These Ascots (who started off as the Escotts) were local guys from Beaumont an hours drive to the west of Houston who only recorded this one album & a handful of 45,s. Their lead singer is a name familiar to most UK/northern fans/collectors for his tasty dancers and general talent, Talmadge Armstrong, other members were James Duhon & A C Gillory. No idea what happened to these guys, just vanished from the business ?... i came across this gem yesterday whilst diggin to jog my now crappy memory. I can look at an album and the memories come flooding back..weird ?...I sold the LP to a guy again in the states and was honest about a scratch on one of the tracks..being a true collector he said it was ok and he still wanted to buy it so we did a deal for a good price all round. Ive edited that track (3) so about 15 seconds is missing from the end. Some great dancers on here &  i remembering dancing to them...where do the years go eh ? and a cracking album in general. I,m so pleased that i did scans of everything i parted with and made copies never thinking one day they would come in handy or that i would ever have a blog. The label is very popular with most of you guys so lets take a listen to these gems!

I really have a lot of singles but paradoxically I don't have this one.

Thanks AMM for filling this gap.
