Here,s an album many regard as a masterpiece! If you dig marvin & Curtis this is right up your street if you dont know this talented artist..Mike was born 1949 in Yazoo City, Mississippi. With his brothers he formed a gospel group The Seven Seals .After he moved to Los Angeles in mid 50s, along with his brothers: Robert and Walter, he bet with his brother Robert, that they could cut a record as good as any Motown work, in the winter of 1965, Mike & the Censations recorded their first official release “Victim Of Circumstance”. A self-released record on Robert's Bryan label. It made the top 50 of the R&B Charts. They had a few 45,s played out on the northern scene,"dont mess with me","there is nothing i can do about it","baby what you gonna do" & "i need your loving" all spring to mind on Highland. He did attain some brief fame when he shortened his name to Bo and teamed up with Ruth Davis to record an album "Bo & Ruth" that had a smash hit with soul fans world wide "your gonna get next to me" on Claridge records. This gem of an album started it all!
