Don't let the follow-up fool you - its just as strong as the original series. FYI - the recording studio ultimately became a laundro-mat, that still had some of the gold records hanging from the wall. The family owned and operated a grocery store, bearing their name, in the French Quarter for several decades. Was one of the few places, pre-Covid, that still did grocery deliveries (including booze!) via bicycles. Ultimately they sold it, but the new owners still call it Matassa's. His granddaughter also is a co-owner in a FQ bar (many moons ago, she and I dated for about a year). He is the only non-musician that has his name imprinted on the sidewalk outside the famous New Orleans' music club, Tipitina's (although, sadly, it was misspelled!).

For those still interested in NO rnb from that era, there's a two disc set set from, oddly enough, Chess Records, simply called New Orleans. Has some of the same songs from this massive set, but touches on a few other genres, like zydeco.
