Various Artists - The Skippy White Story - Boston Soul 1961-1967 (2022) Yep Roc LP - Rare Soul/Gospel/Blues (FLAC)

I tried to order the CD but waiting time was far too long, so the LP was the answer to my impatience! This collection was worth waiting for! Skippy White, real name Fred LeBlanc was a DJ,label owner, and record shop owner in Boston and an avid record collector. Most of these tracks have never been released till now and are dog rare. The album includes Boston Soul obscurities and only the tracks released on Skippys Wild label were known to me. Surprisingly Skippy didn,t compile this album,it was put together by Eli "paperboy" Reed from his own personal collection of 45,s,acetates and tapes.Eli is a white soul singer from Boston with several albums under his belt, you should check him out. I,ll have a root around and bang something up on the blog. I love albums like this containg rare great dancers, mingled in with brilliant gospel and blues tracks! There were around 7-8 groups calling themselves The Precisions, these,s guys were fronted by James "junior" Washington and came from the Boston area not to be confused with the Detroit band...SUPERB STUFF!

This must be a great collection. Being a blues lover I of course do know the Guitar Nubbit tracks. And they are good. I am curious if I agree with you about the other tracks.
