WHO WAS SAXIE RUSSELL OF "PSYCHEDELIC SOUL" FAME - Thomas Records

I had a few emails about this great record which happens to be my all time fave dancer on Eddie Thomas,s label from chicago who released 13 stunning 45,s apart from saxie,s gem The Amazers,Cash McCall,Jamo Thomas(Eddie,s brother) The Brooks brothers & mamie Galore...and the man behind the name, well his real name is Russell Taplin who was a member/session man mainly for gigs of the Bobo jenkins band (real name John Pickens Jenkins) out of chicago who cut a few discs with Boxer records who also recorded the great Mckinley Mitchell. The label was owned by  john moore who,s business partner was a lady called Eva Russell....Bobo came from Detroit and was a blues singer/songwriter/guitarist as Russell "saxie" Taplin came from Chicago....What happened to saxie ? god only knows as i have spent hours researching his whereabouts and what happened to him ...Zilch sadly...I hope that answers your queries, thats all i humbly know.

I don't know if it's an album or two singles that you're offering us, but when in doubt, I'm a taker. Thanks AM.

I'm with Pierre, it's unclear if you're offering anything here but whatever it is I'll grab it with both eager hands. BTW. I had Bobo Jenkins first LP, it was a homemade affair on his own label (Big Star if my memory serves me correctly) it was fun because he had obviously set up the tape recorder himself and played his song then walked over to turn the tape recorder off, so there were these long gaps between songs and on a few tracks you could even hear his footsteps. Reminds me of a very early Son House field recording, you can faintly hear a train in the distance (choo-choo) and on one Robert Johnson track recorded in a San Antonio hotel room you can hear a bird whistling outside the window.
