To compliment hakase,s album the other day of billy Valentine here is my favourite Valentines album their second recorded. The CD is going for £100 + currently, so god knows what the LP is going for. I sold mine for not too short of that figure but now have the sense to back up all my sales. They only recorded 4 studio albums & a dozen or so 45,s. their heyday was in the late 1970s and 1980s,
comprising brothers John and William "Billy" Valentine, real name Denham. One of their
biggest hits, as singers and songwriters, was "Money's Too Tight (to
Mention)", which reached no. 41 in the R&B chart in 1982 and was
later recorded with greater worldwide success by Simply Red who achieved more success with the song. This successful duo continue to draw
in the crowds even though it's been more than 40 years since they last
released an album together. This still sounds great all these years later (and my fave version of that wonderful song)

Very nice indeed... thanks AMM for this review.
I'm familiar with the Simply Red cover of Money's Too Tight (which was very good), I've only heard the original once... can't wait to hear it again.
