One of the best albums that showcases the T.K. label and sub labels is this gem now long deleted. The Hialeah district of Greater Miami sits some ten kilo metres inland from the Atlantic coast. To the average tourist, its major claim to fame is sports orientated the Hialeah Park Race Track, built in 1931 as a winter racing mecca, used for the purpose for only two months of the year but boasting palm fringed gardens and the home of the world's largest flock of domestic flamingos. For the soul music fan however, Hialeah was the home of TK Productions, owned by Henry Stone and which through out the seventies and up to the early eighties, via a family of little labels, distributed a wealth of soul and dance product, much of which was recorded at Miami's own Criteria recording studios. (The latter was, in the main, more successful than the former but commercial successes take a back seat here as we listen to a variety of some of the more soulful sounds of TK. Wonderful cross section of Soul!
