I was a bit disappointed of the lack of soul/jazz artists performing at the biggest music event in the world. Rap/Hip Hop does not seem to be waning and a lack of mainstream soul/jazz is being shoved to one side for these genres that i confess not all to my personal liking. I do enjoy the old "spoken word" a forunner perhaps of rap from the likes of Joe tex,Gil Scott heron & Gary Byrd plus the early Sugarhill rap from that labels stablemates. The only artist up to now that i enjoyed was the UK,s Michael Kiwanuka a very talented man indeed who you cant put into a specific bag. Here the Mercury prize winning guitarist charms the main Pyramid stage with lush tunes and soulful vocals So here,s a freebie to enjoy below photo.
