Various Artists - Philly Ear Kandy (2000) Philly Sound Works - Rare Soul (FLAC 435MB)

Came across a blank white labeled CD whilst sorting out my collection & it turned out to be an Interesting rarity from Philly,s Vince Montana Jr,s Philly Sound Works label. A cracking CD seldom seen for sale that again i forgot i had..lol. The best of Philly's Artists are featured here with background vocals from none other than 'The Sweethearts of Sigma' (Carla Benson, Evette Benton & Barbara Ingram).  Now That s The Philly Sound! This compilation features such exceptional artists as Ronnie Walker the talented singer/songwriter who initiated the Philly Falsetto a prevalent sound in Philadelphia-produced music; Dave Morris who delivers the strong moral message of Gettin Together with his commanding and passionate vocal; The Girls (Brown Sugar) four lovely ladies with angelic-like voices put their heart and soul into their performance; Cecil Parker a truly gifted singer/songwriter shares his classic sound on these soulful Philly ballads; and daughter, Denise Montana, (Goody Goody) known for her club hits #1 Dee Jay and It Looks Like Love treats us to her slightly jazzier side. Philly Ear Kandy takes us back to Montana s Philly Soul days with The Original Philadelphia Rhythm Section which includes Norman Harris (Guitar), Ronnie Baker (Bass), Earl Young (Drums), Ron Kersey (Keys), Lenny Pakula (Organ), Bobby Eli (Guitar), Larry Washington (Congas), Jon Bonnie (Sax), Don Renaldo's Strings and Vince Montana Jr on Vibraharp, Tympani, Bells, Chimes & Percussion. Many of his session mates from both the MFSB and The Salsoul Orchestra. In an industry where music is transitory, Philly Soul has survived the test of time. These songs remain classic in the truest sense and will be enjoyed for generations to come. This is real Philly Ear Kandy for the soul! Vincent Montana, Jr. is known for his integral role in both the development of The Philadelphia Sound as key MFSB rhythm section member and house band studio musician for Philadelphia International Records as well as dance pioneer of the Disco Era as the creative and driving force behind The Salsoul Orchestra. This is real Philly Ear Kandy for the soul.
