Mystique Feat Ralph Johnson(1977)Curtom Records - Rare Soul

Mystique was founded in 1976 by The Impressions former lead singer Ralph Johnson.
The sole release from Mystique Featuring Ralph Johnson was issued by Curtis Mayfield's Curtom label distributed by Warner Bros. in the summer of 1977. Johnson was the lead singer of the '70s-era Impressions ("Finally Got Myself Together") from 1976-1977. Recorded in Chicago and Philadelphia, the album has both luscious ballads and hot dance floor tracks. The standout tracks feature producer Bunny Sigler and his backup band Instant Funk. The steppers track "Is It Really You" charted R&B in June 1977 while the zesty Sigler/Don Covay song "What Would the World Be Without Music" was a dance hit. There are some nice ballads -- "All of My Life," "This Time I'll Be Your Fool," and "Somebody Somebody to Love Me." They sadly never really broke through.
A very Good and Underated album it is.Not ignored this side of the pond by Northern and Soul fans alike.

I totally agree anything Curtis is fine with a whole bunch of people. Definitely would like to listen to these sounds. I probably saw this album but never realize who they were. Thanks to you, my mind and eyes are opened.

Hello my friend, a group that I did not know, but as their album is published by the label of Curtis Mayfield, it goes without saying that I am the taker of this (I'm sure) superb cake.
