I AM THE BLUES takes the audience on a musical journey through the
swamps of the Louisiana Bayou, the juke joints of the Mississippi Delta
and Moonshine soaked BBQs in the North Mississippi Hill Country. The
film visits blues musicians rooted in the genre's heyday, many in their
80s, still living in the American deep south and touring the Chitlin’
Circuit. Let Bobby Rush, Barbara Lynn, Henry Gray, Carol Fran, Little
Freddie King, Lazy Lester, Bilbo Walker, Jimmy “Duck” Holmes, RL Boyce,
LC Ulmer, Lil’ Buck Sinegal and their friends awaken the blues in all of
us...Link below poster good for 7 days only...enjoy!

thanks AMM. this is a nice way to end the week. looking forward to see Barbara Lyn in action.
Thanks for the Sunday documentary review looks interesting
Seems like an interesting movie and I'm especially looking forward to seeing Barbara Lynn. However, it's a little sad to think that these artists, many now in their 80's, are probably the last generation of authentic, african-american blues musicians who actually grew up listening to blues and learning to sing/play blues.
Of course the blues is very much alive and well. There are thousands of blues bands more or less everywhere in the world, and many of them are brilliant and highly competent. But blues music nowadays is moistly played by white guys. It seems there are very few young black american artists/musicians who care about preserving the blues tradition.
Thanks AMM. Looking forward to seeing the swamp.
