Heres a great collection 70 tracks that will appeal to Northern,Soul,Blues fans alike.Chief may not have been the most successful or prolific of blues labels, but few can doubt that its musical impact far outweighed its output. Spanning just seven years(over the 3 labels) this compilation contains just about everything recorded on that iconic label. Some mighty big names on here and some not so well known. Chief Records was founded in Chicago in 1957 by Mel London, a 25-year-old R&B entrepreneur. London served as producer and wrote several of the label's best-known songs. Best known for its recordings of Chicago blues artists Elmore James, Junior Wells, Magic Sam, and Earl Hooker, the label had a diverse roster and included R&B artists Lillian Offitt and Ricky Allen 7 a few others. As with many independent blues labels in the early 1960s, Chief was plagued by financial problems. First to be discontinued were the Chief and Profile labels, finally the Age label was discontinued in 1964 and the company went out of business. During its seven years of operation, Chief/Profile/Age released about 80 singles (including reissues) from approximately 37 artists.

Fantastic work, thank you!
I know the Chief Label to be great. This would fill in some holes in my collection.
Thank you AMM.
I will wait patiently if you want while you computer recovers. Mine got a bad virus a few years ago. I used Malwarebytes to cure it and now have their top of the line app to keep viruses out.
Once you're up and running again I'd like the Lost and Found set. I think it fills in some holes left by the 3cd's " The Best Of Chief records" I have.
And a yes please from him MM.
cheers, Eltel
Hi AMM, Thanks for the review this looks very interesting, thank you.
Great selection here. Junior Wells an all time favourite. Some folk can lead a band. When JW stepped on stage after the band played a warm up set the band lifted. Amazing presence. I remember a live album of his with the band in full flight and JW says "James Brown's got nothing like this". Great label. Thanks.
Yeah, Chief Records Rock! :) Thx x 1000 ☮️✌🏻☀️
Many thanks,I not one fan of the Blues put love the Chicago Blues & varius artists, and I see here many songs by the great Junior Wells
