Tower Of Power - Tower Of Power (LP 1973 Warner Bros - CD 2015 Warner Bros Japan + Booklet) - Rare Soul/Funk/Jazz (FLAC 316MB)

One of my all time fave groups who like Earth Wind & Fire were pioneers of fusing together soul/funk/jazz producing some fantastic albums from the 29 studio recorded. They come from Oakland across the bay from San Francisco, an area i got to know well in my hunt for rare soul 45,s years back. This was their 3rd album released. They have had an array of members in the band but on this album was the backbone of members fromf their heady days in the early 1970,s. Lenny Williams being the best known to soul fans for his fabulous vocals....The members on here are Lenny Williams: lead vocals, Chester Thompson: organ, vocals, Bruce Conte: guitar, vocals, Francis "Rocco" Prestia: bass, Brent Byars: conga drums, bongos, David Garibaldi: drums, Lenny Pickett: 1st tenor saxophone, flute, clarinet, vocals, Emilio Castillo: 2nd tenor saxophone, vocals, Stephen Kupka: baritone saxophone, oboe, vocals, Mic Gillette: trumpet, trombone, flugelhorn, baritone horn, vocals, Greg Adams: trumpet, flugelhorn (solo on track 6) vocals, Jay Spell: piano. This is an upgrade from the old blog. Head over to their site for more info on these legends HERE. First taster played on the NSS.
