The San Remo Golden Strings - Hungry For Love - The Anthology (1998) Marginal 123 - Rare Instrumental Soul

The San Remo Golden Strings were the House Band at Ric Tic Records in Detroit, Michigan. A number of its members also played in the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, while others were members of the Motown backing band, The Funk Brothers moonlighting from Motown. Their albums & singles were released on Ric-Tic, Motown and Gordy labels. They scored two hits in the U.S. in 1965: "Hungry for Love" (U.S. Pop #27) and "I'm Satisfied" (U.S. Pop #89). In 1971, they had some success, as the "San Remo Strings" with "Festival Time", which reached #39 in the UK Singles Chart and was popular on the UK's Northern Scene along with many tracks on here.Ed wingate Label Owner named his House Band after a visit with his wife to San remo in Italy. Not to be confused with the band of the same name out of italy that has caused some confusion with fans & Collectors. This great Boot from marginal collects all their essential tracks, and still no official release from Universal Who owns the Motown Catalog. Many thanks to oldsoulrebel & usman47 for providing back covers
