Repost - Kenji Omura - Kenji Shock - LP (1978) Alfa - CD (2003) GT Music-Japan - Rare Japanese Jazz/Funk (FLAC)

Repost from the old blog....Kenji Omura was Born in 1949 & passed 1998.He was a Japanese jazz-fusion and later session guitarist, member of the expanded Yellow Magic Orchestra live band, known and loved by all Jazz Fusion fans, and played on many albums by the group and their many solo projects. His 9 solo albums are still highly sought after by collectors world wide, and yes i have them all,i love his style and technique. This album is defo all killer and no filler, perhaps one of his best!..Several tracks played on the Jazz/Funk Scene here in the UK back in the day, the Line Up is Awesome,a who,s who of Fusion Giants!

I used to have a few Jap. fusion albums back in the day. Their influence on the club scene back then was pretty big, especially when playing with the likes of Bob James, Dave Grusin etc.. I think Hiroshi Fukumura's Hunt Up Wind was and still is an absolute gem among the genre. Cheers.

Great review. Another new exposure for me. I haven't heard this before. The tasters show the diversity of this ensemble by displaying three different styles. Really like this one. Kudos!!!
