After a request i,m reviewing Obscure New Orleans soulstress Mary Jane Hooper. After releasing only a handful of singles between 1968 and 1970, this brilliantly talented vocalist (whose real name is Sena Fletcher) faded into obscurity. Her music has since garnered a dedicated following among R&B/soul collectors and much speculation has arisen about her recent whereabouts. 2 CD,s & an LP containing the material from her 45-RPMs and seven previously unreleased recordings all cut for New Orleans crawfish king Al Scramuzza’s various record labels hit the market in 1997, helping to quench the lust for rare gems in the hearts of soul music devotees worldwide. The review features one of the CD,s "Teach Me" & ive included Bonus Tracks of all the other tracks from the other CD & LP "Psychedelphia" now very hard to acquire as all long deleted. Also a very rare 2016 interview which originally aired on radio station WWOZ in New Orleans is also included with samples of never-before-heard recordings from Sena’s personal collection!..So you have her complete collection for your enjoyment today! Why this lady was not huge is a mystery but listen to the interview all will be revealed!..great Soul/Funk/Northern Dancers!...her "rarest dancer "Stolen Moments" is also included not on any media site!...Bonus Tracks Listed under Back Cover

Thanks guys
Yves
Mate, this is brilliant,!!!
Thank you for the review
Yeah, her music career suffered from a bunch of criminally poor management. Great voice and a wonderful live performer. Mid 70s she did a tour of Europe with a group of NO musicians, including Dr. John and Eddie Bo, but wheh she returned to NO sh just decided that she was going to retire from the music industry.
Look like you have everything, AMM - including Stolen Moments.
Scramuzza is still alive and somewhat kicking. Became locally famous more so from the boiled crawfish restaurants that he owned and the crazy tv commercials for them featuring himself. Here's a link to one of them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmc8mp76ODw
Looking forward to this AMM - many thanks!
