The 4 Seasons - New Gold Hits (1967) LP Release Only - Rare Soul (FLAC 181MB)

If there was ever a blue eyed group that could lay claim to being the kings of that genre its these guys. So many great albums 29 to date, with Frankie Valli hitting the 20 mark, and nearly 400 45,s released between them, so so many great dancers. They need no introduction on here!  This is one of my fave albums of theirs i,m sure i have everything they recorded but this album is special. not a dud track on here with dancers and just great great songs. The standout for me is "I,m Gonna Change"...This was played in the soul clubs on release by discerning DJ,s before the label Northern Soul was ever applied over here in the UK. The track was only issued on this abum, no 45 release or CD release for that or this superb album, it has been played at every major NS club since 1967. To think philips tried to withdraw this because of a typo error would have been unforgivable, thankfully they did not and this track is up there as one of the greatest in Northern Folklore. The album bombed out apart from a few tracks released to 45 but really did nothing.."Beggin" being the most popular thing on the album. If anyone has witnessed the show "The jersey Boys" that goes into their history and full repertoire fabulous show!..still touring world wide i think. A repost from the old blog but in flac.

I guess calling your album "New Gold Hits" is a great way to jinx it!
Thanks, AMM!

Alright, normally I'm a bit careful with those "blue-eyed guys" (I guess a lot of us are) but you got me through your pretty good and interesting review (again, you're writing kind of appeals to me my dear mate-oh ;) And Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons is a name ('name' in this case? I don't know, you "English for beginners"-book writers please forgive me) I already cached up in some places numerous times. Thanks again and (maybe) always! πŸ€“☮️✌πŸ»πŸŒƒ☀️🫢🏻
