The Four Tops - Keeper of The Castle (1972) LP Version ABC-Dunhill - Rare Soul (FLAC 286MB)

They formed in 1953, in Detroit as The Four Aims. They made their recording debut in 1955 backing Carolyn Hayes on her "Baby Say You Love Me / Really" single. The four founding members remained together for over four decades, until 1997 without a single change in personnel, incredible! In the 60's they were the main male vocal group for the song writing and production team of Holland-Dozier-Holland. After Holland-Dozier-Holland left Motown in 1967, the Four Tops were assigned to several producers, primarily Frank Wilson. When Motown left Detroit in 1972 to move to Los Angeles, California, the Tops stayed in Detroit and moved over to ABC Records, again they didnt trust berry gordy and thought his business practices were questionable. At ABC/Dunhill they continued to have charting singles into the late 1970s. The  Tops have recorded for, at various times, Motown, Casablanca, Prism, DBTV, Arista, & Sony. This was their debut album on ABC/Dunhill. With a total of 35 studio albums and 220 x 45,s plus countless compilations they have rightly gone down in history as one of the greatest soul groups of all time. Never ever having made a poor album, so how can you not love these guys ?...i do.. I can honestly say i play one of their albums every week no matter where i am, an addiction i cant live without!...LEGENDS!!!..They were Inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 as Performers with honours. Its one album i never backed up to CD must do that in time but its still in good "nick" english expression for condition.

I love the Four Tops. I got to speak to Levi Stubbs when he performed in San Antonio in the 90's. He was surprised I knew so many of his songs. My favorite song was "Left with a broken Heart. Thank you for a good review on my favorite all time group. No one can sing Levi Stubbs. Thank AMM.
