Fabiano Orchestra - Butterly Island - LP (1980) Franck R - CD (2013) Superfly - Rare Jazz/Funk/Fusion (FLAC)

The Fabiano Orchestra was the Brainchild of Jean-François Fabiano who hailed from Quebec in Canada. At fourteen the young drummer-percussionist creates his first band "BIJOU", which later will accompany Serge Gainsbourg on tour and in the studio. Since then, he has performed among others with  Patrick Juvet, Larry Coryell, The Headhunters of Herbie Hancock. In the 1970s he moved to the French Island of Guadeloupe and founded the Fabiano Orchestra where he assembled a glittering array of musicians to record this one off Gem. Back in Québec in the 1980s, he becomes the conductor of Robert Charlebois. He has recorded 5 further studio albums but this is a as rare a prize album as it gets to lovers and collectors of Fusion..superb album! ...see discogs and amazon for the price...Scary!!...My LP is worn so glad i backed most of them up as this is an essential album!. First bought to my attention in the Jazz/Funk clubs i used to frequent (too old now!...lol!)

Hannibal Marvin Peterson is a fantastic musician in his own right. He also has written a few jazz operas, one of which that I was fortunate to have seen performed. This is a new one to me, but the preview is fantastic. Looking forward to this one. Thanks, AMM!
