The Kelly Brothers - Songs From The Good Book (1962) King - Rare Gospel (MP3)

The kelly Brothers originally came from Mississippi and consisted of  Curtis Kelly, Andrew Kelly, Robert Kelly, T. C. Lee and Offie Reese. This was their debut album in 1962 although the guys (3 brothers) started life as the Kingpins but evolved to the kelly Brothers adding the other 2 members later. Only 5 studio albums recorded with 30 x 45,s and a great compilation of their soul material on Kent which is due for posting soon. The first taster was a big hit way back in the soul clubs. I really enjoy gospel and this album is beautiful to listen to.

My problem with gospel is my first exposure to it was Mahalia Jackson. Where do you go if you started with the best? 👼
Thanks, AMM!

I grew up listening and singing gospel in groups and choirs with my family. My mother and her sisters used to sing and play on the radio down in Clarksville TN. They have all passed away now but their music lives on. These guys bring back great memories. Thanks for this trip down memory lane!!!
