This was a coming of age film Set in 1974, an authentic and uplifting tale of two friends whose horizons are opened up by the discovery of black American soul music and the Northern Soul Scene In The North Of England In A Working Class Area. My Opinion is its hard hitting and i can relate to some of the film but they are spot on with the music from the era. Personally the drugs side of the scene never held any interest to me whatsoever but sadly i did lose a lot of good pals to the filth that is drugs. On the other hand the scene was very friendly and not as hostile as the movie portraits. Film makers never seem to get it right do they ? but an entertaining film nevertheless. The winner has always been the music.

Really enjoyed it for the forth time always seem different every time i watch it it really takes me back we use to make names up of bands/singers even in the sixties so no one new what they were give them drugs a miss even though some of my mate would be pill poppin
