Our Heroes hailed from a three hundred mile long range of mostly farmland to the east of San Francisco Bay, the Central Valley stretches from Sacramento in the north to Bakersfield in the south, and is peppered with blue collar cities like MERCED, Modesto and Stockton, all linked by the threading thoroughfare of Highway 99. Hence the title of this CD from a group who never released a studio album and a dozen or so 45,s.Just this compilation and the next compilation that gathers all their recorded material most unreleased until these albums were released.The booklet again tells you everything you want to know about these unknown legends. The Northern Scene too them to their hearts & were quick to expose their incredible dancers to their floors, who can sit still when these tunes collide with your ears and a floor beckons you onto it! Such a  great group who should have gone on to better things. Similar to Booker T & MG,s but with a more uptempo groove on their dancers, and the slower tracks an irresistable bluesy feel...A Multi racial group who combined their love for R&B & Blues and forged their sound into some fantastic records...SUPERB!...cant play all the tasters i wanted as not on youtube re-unreleased.
