Lowrell Simon was born in 1943 in Chicago and passed in 2018 in Mississippi. He was an original member of Chicago soul group the Lost Generation. Lowrell had an '80's hit with 'Mellow Mellow Right On,' which has been the source for numerous raps and samples. In the early '80's, he began recording for Liberace's AVI Records as Lowrell. His solo debut 'Lowrell' was released in of 1979 & included production from the Chi-Lites' Eugene Record, Bruce Hawes, & arranger Thomas 'Tom Tom 84' Washington. His only album and a handful of 45,s. This album is still dog rare and still regarded as a classic & one of the best slow jams in history!...i still love it!
