SPECIAL AUDIO REVIEW - BBC RADIO 6 Music's Northern Soul All-Nighter 5 PODCASTS (M4A) 248MB

Today is the 50th Anniversary that Wigan casino opened its doors for the first time in 1973 that hailed another era in the Northern Soul Story. BBC radio 6 has released 6 podcasts, 4 in particular feature the DJ,s at the 4 clubs. So if you listen in this order of the timescale the clubs were operating you will get the progression of music...Start with The twisted Wheel then The Golden Torch onto Wigan casino and ending with the only club still going strong Kent record label owner Ady Croasdell,s The 100 Hundred club + a Keep On Keeping On Podcast.

Glad to see the "scene" is being paid tribute to by the BBC. They should do it more often, though, not just every 50 years... 🕺

I love hearing about the history of NS. It's still amazing to me and hard to comprehend. The US is listening to Freddie and the Dreamers and the UK is listening to Freddie Scott. Go figure.

I listened to the first one yesterday and will listen to all of them. I found the music exceptionally good, the stories interesting and the DJ's enthusiasm compelling! I can see why this scene was so big. This may be the next best thing to actually being there.
