Hamilton Bohannon a funk legend and a great album that is essential...Apart from a great performer and innovator he was also a producer, songwriter, arranger, and bandleader. Born 1942, in Georgia passed 2020.
He Moved to Detroit in the early 1960s and worked as sideman for Stevie Wonder between 1965 and 1967 and became arranger for all of Motown,s top acts. When motown
relocated to Los Angeles in the early 1970s he remained in Detroit,
formed his own band and released 21 albums between 1973 and 1990 on the Dakar label and moving on to Mercury & a few more before calling it a day. Just came across my copy but was sent this a while back. The guy knew how to pack floors back in the day, what i like was their was a jazzy undertone to his recordings sometimes.
