Gloria Barnes (Towanda Barnes) - Uptown (1971 ) Maple - LP Release (FLAC 167MB) Rare Soul

The original and only album recorded by Gloria or Towanda Barnes as she sometimes recorded under. Apart from the Ohio Players original " You Dont Mean It", her version was far more popular with soul fans and northern dancers. On this album she was backed up by no less that 4 groups. The Ohio Players. Lee Moses & his band, The Hustlers, & The Disciples all well know to collectors and dancers alike. Still a dynamite of an album and condition not too bad with her most indemand tracks as tasters!!! Such a shame this lady with the raw powerful voice did not go on to record more material
