Charlie Whitehead - Whitehead At Yellowstone (1977) Wizard LP Release Only - (MP3 120MB) Rare Soul

Extremely rare album i had years ago and foolishly sold without making a back up copy so great to get this back!...From Swamp Doggs best m8 Charlie whitehead. Strange title when it was recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in Alabama. But a killer of an album nevertheless, pure raw soul!!!....Charlie Whitehead recorded between 1969-1977 for various small soul labels. He was a musical partner with Jerry "Swamp Dogg" Williams, and himself took the moniker "Raw Spitt" for a classic 1970 soul album. Together they wrote numerous songs that have been recorded by themselves and others. This album, Whitehead At Yellowstone, is extremely difficult to find, coming from a record label that only put out two albums, this one and another by Swamp Dogg, the equally difficult to find An Opportunity...Not A Bargain!!! Hear Whitehead's beautifully sung love ballad "I Finally Found Myself Something To Sing About"...a gem of a song that chugs along in a dance groove and then soars skywards. Grateful soul fans have been thrilled to hear that Charlie, a sadly overlooked and extremely talented singer, has recently resurfaced after 30+ years in obscurity, found to be living in Brooklyn NY and interviewed for the October 2010 issue of Living Blues magazine. Enjoy!
