I got a request for this very rare old boot seldom seen for sale anywhere on the web & must be worth a bomb now. Been spending the day looking for it as i knew i had it somewhere as well as sorting collection out ?...Two of Philadelphia,s finest soul groups that never made the big time but created such wonderful harmonies & great records. These guys could stand up there with any of the famous philly artists such is the strength of their material.This album collects everything they both did. The Philly Devotions recorded on the Bry-Wek & Don De labels out of philly with a couple of 45,s & the others on Columbia. Whereas the Creations were one of several groups bearing that name, but like the PD,S were natives to Philly.The creations recorded for local philly labels Virtue & Liberty Bell with only 7 x 45,s released, very little info about them. Sadly neither group had a studio album released, but the PD,s did have a compilation and ive added the rest of the tracks from that album as bonus,s. The lead singer of the PD,s was Matt Covington who released a couple of albums over 10 years ago if i,m correct and as soon as they appear out of the dust i,ll review them for you all. This is such a stunning album with top quality Philly soul now sadly never see,s the light of day. Most of these Boot CD,s are ripped from mp3,s so i compared the qualty of mp3 & flac copys and as expected no difference so we,ll stick with the original rip from the 45,s mp3. I,m sure this was booted twice but cant verify that...Brilliant Philly Soul!...Bonus tracks listed under back cover.
