If any of you have the Goldmine/SoulSupply albums on The Parliaments GSCD 052 (1994) or GSCD 119 (1997) Then treat this album as an updated version as it has extra tracks. This album captures all their rare early Detroit Soul sides for Revilot,Soilid Hits, & Golden World labels. The Parliaments was originally a doo-wop vocal group based at a Plainfield, New Jersey barbershop. The group was formed in the late 1950s and included George Clinton, Ray Davis, Fuzzy Haskins, Calvin Simon, and Grady Thomas. Clinton was the group leader and manager right up to when they changed their name to Parliament and had world wide success with their heavy Funk albums. This includes all their Rare Northern Monsters which is nearly ALL of the album!..Timeless & Fantastic tracks that all feature the Funk Brothers moonlighting from Motown. Perhaps if Gordy had paid them a livable wage this would,t have occured, but then on the flip side so many great Detroit records wouldnt have been made...a win for us then ?..All vocals feature George Clinton.
