Brief Encounter - Introducing (1977) LP- Seventy Seven-(2021) LP Real Gone (FLAC) Rare Soul/Funk

The elusive and mysterious "Introducing" album by the Brief Encounter has eluded many an intrepid record collector over the years. Despite being a relatively well known and highly respected soul/funk band, their highly sought after album on Seventy Seven Records has remained practically impossible to find. And when one does surface, a figure over $2000 isn't out of the ordinary for a copy to change hands. Mine is worn out and sadly scratched so i got it again as its so good.As a result not only have the vast majority of collectors and soul fans been unable to enjoy the music, but for over 30 years the band themselves have not had the satisfaction of having their pride and joy felt, heard and enjoyed. So thankfully last year it was reissued via Real Gone records. This inspirational album that displays a wide showcase of soulful talent from funky rare grooves to beautiful ballads. Recorded way back in 1977 and how a small time group of musicians from rural North Carolina came to entrance soul fans and collectors the world over with such a superb yet under appreciated masterpiece. Brief Encounter came from North Wilkesboro, North Carolina and formed in the 1970's and recorded through the the 90s with various labels as well as self releasing. There,s not a bad track to be seen, one of America's finest and underated 70s soul bands. They only recorded 2 albums and the second one will be posted up tomorrow on the Music Town N.C. imprint...still Dog Rare!..The band,s backbone is the bailey family but full members are  Bernard Bailey, Charles Graham, Fredrick Alexander, Larry Bailey, Maurice Whittington, Michael Carter, Montie Bailey, Rufus Wilborn, Velmar Bailey

The last song on the lp, We're Gonna Have a Good Time, got radio play in NO when the lp was first released, but nothing else. Fantastic review and looking forward to hearing all of the album. Many thanks, AMM!
