As we plough on bringing you the gems from the "D" featuring more small labels that yielded some great Northern Dancers not to mention Sweet Soul & funk...............Dotty,s Records was founded by Clifford Marshall & James "Diamond Jim" Riley in the mid 1960,s. The label only ran for a short time & it's lack of success was not helped by co-owner"Diamond Jim" being arrested for drug trafficking and all asset's seized by the U.S.Govenment. They also owned Whip & Star Track records. Rudy Robinson owned Ram-Broc,Lau-reen,Clissac,New Moon, Funco,TCA, & Whip-o record labels. Rudy had worked with many of the soul greats including The Temptations, Bettye Lavette, George Clinton, The Dells, The Dramatics, The Spinners, The Four Tops, Isaac Hayes, Johnnie Taylor, David Ruffin, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr. (on their hit 'You Don't Have To Be A Star') and Martha Reeves. He was the musical director for Mike Hanks' D-Town Records. His new moon Record was the parent company for TCA owned by Bettye Lavette.
