***PASSING OF A LEGEND***Tina Turner - Simply The Best + Booklet (1991) Capitol (FLAC)

Like everyone else, when a true music/soul legend passes on its shock & disbelief. I dont get this feeling very often in life but when sam cooke, otis redding, marvin gaye,Bobby womack & whitney houston passed it was gut wrencing and felt like a family member/loved one had just gone.....So here,s my humble tribute to a wonderful lady who endured abuse from you know who came over to England to resurrect her career where she catapulted to super stardom. If anyone deserved that status it was her. If james brown was known as the hardest working man in show business then that title surely applied to tina as she was a force on her own, if anyone has attended any of her shows live or witnessed her performances on tv or cinema you,ll know where i,m coming from. To choose the appropiate albums to review was a tough one as i have everything her and ike recorded as well as her solo albums, i adored the woman and automatically bought anything by her on release. So today i,ve chosen 2 old albums that made a massive impact on my life and a compilation of her solo work + The best live album with ike. if anyone has requests please done hesitate to mail me. As the title of this album so rightly says....SIMPLY THE BEST!...R.I.P. TINA TURNER SOUL SUPERSTAR!

AMM

Yes, Tina Turner was without a doubt, Simply The Best. For me her recordings from the mid sixties for Kent/Modern, Loma/Warner Bros etc and the classic River Deep, Mountain High are her best recordings......The Best

I have around 35 lps by her and/or her and Ike. I'm glad she finally got to lead the life she deserved. This is a great album, as are the other ones by her and Ike that you posted, Amm. That River Deep lp is just a monster.
RIP, Ms. Turner.
