Tony Middleton (Once A Willow) - Memories Are Made Of This (2008) CAT KING COLE (FLAC) + Bonus Tracks

Something very special today, This CD is a bit of a Holy Grail for soul fans to find as long deleted. It has all the best dancers and records this Northern Soul Legend has covered...but thats not exactly true, it should have been a double CD so ive included essential tracks missed out for you to enjoy SEE 2nd BACK COVER BELOW....Tony Middleton AKA Tony Milton is an american singer and actor born in Richmond, Virginia in 1934. In the early 1950s, when he was in his late teens, he moved with his mother to New York City. He excelled at sports and he boxed as an amateur into his early twenties. In 1952 he became the lead singer of The Willows. In 1956 they had a hit record, "Church Bells May Ring". He left the group for a solo career in 1957. After recording for several years without chart success, he moved to Paris in 1962. Where he was featured, that same year, on Louis De Funès movie "Nous irons à Deauville" performing the hit "Oh Yeah, ah ah!" and acquiring a large following recording under his real name of Tony Milton on the Versailles label. Middleton returned to New York and recorded for several more labels over the next decade too many to mention. He is featured singing lead on several records by Burt Bacharach, including "My Little Red Book" (1965) and " I Come To You" (1973, duet with Cissy Houston). He also sang on recordings by other artists including Smokey Robinson, Della Reese and Nell Carter. Later on he returned to the Willows and toured with them for a decade on the oldies circuit. Although Tony did not have major solo success, he has been cited as an influence on many younger vocalists. Tony is one of the most versatile performers in entertainment today, and has been described as having “a rare ability” and a “vocal talent unsurpassed”  As an actor he is well known for his work on Barbarian Queen (1985), The Official Story (1985) and The Journey (1992). He came over to Cleethorpes Soul Weekender in the early 1990,s after discovering he was a huge star on the UK northern scene where he has had a multiple amount of records played out. One of my all time fave singers with that big voice!....LEGEND & HOLY GRAIL!..there is an unknown track listed not on back cover, this is also included in the bonus tracks its "Sweet baby Of Mine"
