Dana Valery - Not The Flower But The Root (LP 1972 Brunswick) (CD 2016 Soild Japan)+ Bonus Tracks - Rare Soul/Pop (MP3)

Dana Valery was born in 1944 as Catalano born Fausta Dana Galli. She is an Italian-born South African-reared singer, actress and television performer. She started her career in the entertainment industry at the age of 16 in Johannesburg, South Africa where her family emigrated from Italy in 1947. came to prominace here in the UK via the Northern Scene where a few of her recordings packed the floors and are still very popular today. had a request for this and didnt think i had it till i was rooting around and found this and the other she recorded on CBS which was South African released Only. On the brunswick album she does some very good covers from her stable mates at the time. This will make a certain gentleman from japan very happy!...lol..These albums are the 9th & 8th in review order studio albums from a total of 10 recorded, and she recorded 40 + 45,s in total, most aimed at the italian market. OK were not really interested in her pop/italian tracks, but she had a super voice and belted out some great dancers that are all covered in this review. The CD also had an extra track as opposed to the original album on brunswick.Bonus tracks listed under back cover.

I've heard this album before and its not bad, not strictly Soul but a wise man said to me some time last year that there is often a thin line between music styles and what a track You Don't Know Where Your Interest Lies is, fantastic, thanks for this AMM
