Valerie Simpson is best known as a songwriter with her partner Nickolas Ashford and the name Ashford-Simpson is found on many great songs including the great 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough'. She is also a great singer in her own right and is rumored to have stood in for Tammi Terrell on the album she recorded with Marvin Gaye 'Easy' in 1969. Now that would be a good post Marvin & Tammi - The Complete Duets. Surprisingly Valerie's Motown recordings are not very well known which is a shame because they are absolutely brilliant, have a listen and hear for yourself, enjoy
